QUESTION POSED ON: 18 July 2003
I have a CCNA 1.0 cert. I also took three of the four CCNP exams (less the remote access test) but the tests were all from around 1999 - 2000. Are they still valid tests or do I need to retake everything?

EXPERT RESPONSE
Alas, the requirements for CCNP are undergoing complete change, and if you can't finish up by the end of September, you're probably out of luck. The best way to check things out is to visit the CCNP requirements at http://www.cisco.com/go/ccnp and check on that BCRAN exam (last day to sign up is 9/7/2003.) My advice is to study like heck and finish under the old regime if you possibly can; otherwise, you'll have to take all new exams. If you end up going that route, consider taking the new Composite (COMP 642-891) exam, the new BCRAN (642-821), and the new CIT (642-831).

Either way, good luck. Hope you can finish the old way while there's still time. It will probably all depend on how much time you have to study, starting NOW!
